More photos from Altar a la Risa, 2021 -those arrangements and photographs are done by Klaudia B. Lewandowski-a sister and friend. Our collaboration, based on dialogues, chemistry, love and trust goes beyond her photographing my pieces. She styles the artworks, bring her objects and sensibility.
Collaborations is in general an essential part on my practice. It is clear to me now that I dont wanna spend my time working alone. Against indiviuality, exchange brings growth.I am rich and lucky to have amazing talented people around me,to create and collaborate, who inspire me.
The title of Altar a la Risa, for instance, was born in a conversation with Luna Carlos Armengod while Solsticio -a project we did last year for @insola.berlin. We painted textiles together, transforming our traumas into colourful paintings that we will afterwards cut appart and convert into a Rug.Transformation is a topic we share.breaking, reshaping material is a gesture from Luna’s practice.Having left both the mediterranean,we shared our nostalgia for the lightness, ease and laughs. Our “Spanish selfs”waved laughs and words.Collaborating together is beyond the artwork: to create community and south.
