COLLECTIVE DAYDREAMING BREATHING & SLEEPING IN THE TEMPLE OF COLLECTIVE REGENERATION - Kunstmuseum Bochum
On Saturday, March 16, artist Irene Fernández Arcas and yoga teacher Amanda Morelli invite you to a collective self-care session in her installation Hygiea's Cave - Temple of Collective Regeneration. An afternoon of sleeping, dreaming and exploring practices of caring for one another through shared conversations and special breathing and meditation exercises. Everyone is welcome to join in the daydreaming together.
11 a.m. Breathing exercise and water wave meditation With the help of breathing and meditation techniques (pranayama), subjective and collective experiences of letting go and refining perception towards a state of inner peace and listening are learned.
1 p.m. Collective, almost sleep-like, conscious daydreaming Space and time to calm down and even dream dreams that the goddess Hygieia will place in our eyelids.
14.30 Performance + Dialogue and closing ritual with Irene Fernández Arcas, Amanda Morelli and all participants Dreams and health - resilience instead of trauma. How can we move from "being sick and getting well" to "staying well"? After a period of meditation and rest, everyone comes together again to share their experiences. The artist sees dialog as the place where art is activated and where transformation can begin. The oldest domestic ritual in existence is the sharing of food and the associated care for one another. In a small, symbolic feast, a celebration of health and life, snacks are served at the end of the collective daydream, prepared by the artist as a concluding ritual.

Das 40-jährige Jubiläum nehmen wir zum Anlass, in die Zukunft und auf die Vergangenheit zu schauen: Was kann und muss ein Museumsgebäude aushalten? Welche Erinnerungen und Visionen stecken in seinen Mauern? Ein nahezu apokalyptischer Wirrwarr aus Pilzorganismen, Schafswolle, Gerüststangen und synthetischen Zöpfen zieht sich durch die Räume des Museumsgebäudes. Sechzehn zeitgenössische Künstler*innen „bewohnen“ mit ihren Installationen das Haus. Sie fordern seine Architektur heraus, zelebrieren und befragen Funktionalitäten und Qualitäten des Hauses und schaffen — so der Versuch — eine große freundliche Werkstatt. Können wir die Institution „Museum“ domestizieren, sie ein Stück näher an die Realität des Alltags rücken und so die Trennung von „innen“ und „außen“, von „privat“ und „öffentlich“ bis zu einem gewissen Grad aufheben? Das 40-jährige Jubiläum des Museumsbaus ist Ausgangspunkt, kritisch auf die Gegenwart und in die Zukunft zu schauen und gemeinsam erfinderisch zu werden.

Collective Listening: Your Inner Forest
Thursday 15.6 we activate again the ubahn, at 8pm in Kottbussertor, at the u1 platform, for a collective listening of the audio work „Your inner forest". We will wait at the collage painting - We will scann the QR code together, and -each in the language of choice- listen the guided meditation, while walking silently slowly to Mariannenplatz, where we will gather for a conversation, feedback round and sunset vibe.

Inner Care in Public spaces” is an artwork I created in collaboration with other artists and professionals, in context of kunst im untergrund. This work & long process is presented in many different layers: Paintings in Kottbussertor ubahn, a multimedia meditation to your Inner Forest, an artistic research of conversations... and I also invited Choreographer Franka Marlene Foth for a colllaboration. we created a performance that will be happening friday 9.6 at 6:30 pm in Kotti, in front of Südblock!

The works, visible in public from June through August 2023, link Berlin’s subway with urban spaces above ground.Three Berlin locations and their subway stations serve as the settings for artistic interventions: Kottbusser Tor, Strausberger Platz and Rotes Rathaus.The selected works seek to amplify and highlight these usages, making each site into an actor—as sites, occasions, and objects of alternative political self-organization.
Irene Fernandez Arcas is interested in the healing potential of art; focusing on the neoliberal exploitation of self-care, body, and mind, her work examines the desire to achieve intimacy and make connections in urban settings.

This day will be bringing together arts, medicine, science, politics and industry…Singing, making music, dancing and visual arts, but also visits to museums and concerts: artistic-creative activities have been proven to have a positive effect on well-being and health. This is also the conclusion of a recent report by the World Health Organization. More and more people are recognizing the benefits of bringing the arts and health care closer together. Yet there is not yet enough systematic research on the healing effects of the arts. How art and medicine are moving towards each other and what this means for our society in the present and for the future will be discussed and experienced at this all-day event.

Funding for our Project STIMULI (with designer Laetitia Barbu) from Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture (NDPC), EUNIC Global and The Northern Dimension Partnership in Public Health and Social Well-being (NDPHS), supported by the Arts Promotion Centre from Finland. To empower collaboration between the arts and health sectors and to pilot arts interventions in the health and well-being of people and communities.

This activation revolves around domestic rituals, celebration and laughter. We create an inner garden as a practice of care.
The first part is a dialogue on transformation, care, rituals and laugh. In the second part we will make a ceremony we have designed together, a choreography of gestures and actions, a collective experience to explore our inner laughter.
